It was right for her to apologize but the harm had already done. Think about how many “sorries” we get from celebs/politicians who make racial slurs, homophobic jokes or any other commnet at opressed groups and are then caught.

The damage control default are always profuse “mea culpas” and promises to “get educated.” I don’t know this entertainer nor her background but I feel bad for the disabled as they seem to be ignored/deprioritized by the greater social justice groups.

I hope Lizzo does something more than just a sorry…like a free concert, donation or PSA or all three where she’d have to humble herself in a real way.
