White priviledge does not mean you and your white ancestors didn't work hard for what they have or lived in the lap of luxury with black servants or were in the Klan. It means you (and me) because of our skin color had advantages over our black counterparts; transferred wealth, no matter how hard a black person worked or how smart a black person was they could never accumulate wealth and pass it along to their kids and grandkids like we do.
White poverty??? My grandmother grew up in the dust bowl of Oklahoma dirt poor....but becasue she was white (and attractive and in the right place at th right time) married a soon to be successful white chemical engineer,,,,thus exiting poverty. The chances of a poor but attractive black woman getting chosen by a soon to be successful white engineer guy back then was 0%.
My grandfather passed down $ to my mom then passed it to me and my brothers. I did NOTHING to earn the inheritance I received. Few 57 year old blck men will receive a phone call from a lawyer out of the blue one day saying, “Your aunt loved you and expect a a $200,000 inheritace to be depositiedin your account.” It’s my belief that lots of white men around this age or older get phone calls like that.
You can be a mediocre white guy/woman in America and do pretty well but a mediocre black person will not do near as well. Thats white priviledge.
